Read Full Review >įIERCE HEART Sign With Dark Star Records For Sophomore Album, War For The World: When Adelaide, Australia based Sonic Divide independently released its self-titled debut full length in 2013, the melodic rock and AOR aesthetics were right on ‘from the lushly textured complexion of the songwriting to the throwback sound drawing upon the best aspects of the seventies and eighties to the impeccably flowing track listing’ (as noted in the 90% Angelic Warlord review). Slaves Wage further impresses as a musically joining of straightforward heavy metal and blues based hard rock with a strong eighties influence, albeit not without leaving room for outside the box moments in the form of doom and even modern metal. It reveals in Paradox a group musically mature beyond its years in presenting with eight equally goods songs of high energy, technical heavy metal that walks a fine line between that of the melodic (although wisely avoiding hair metal territory) and power kind (noting the occasional neo-classical influence).
